Tasmania - A World Apart, Not A World Away
Your inspiring experiences

There are Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses in Florida, fine wines in Italy and alpine spas aplenty in the Swiss Alps. Yet a short one-hour flight from Melbourne you’ll find world-class experiences that might surprise you for Tasmania’s compact space.
Barnbougle Dunes golf course is among the world’s top seven public access golf courses and the Tamar Valley is so primed for the production of bubbly, it's voted second only to Champagne.
No place on earth can compete with Cape Grim, where the world’s freshest air is recorded and as for the Bay of Fires, it is little wonder that this stunning coast was recently named the world’s hottest destination by Lonely Planet.

One of Australia’s most significant heritage sites, at Port Arthur every convict-built structure holds a story. Wander the magnificent grounds where tall-standing oaks were planted as mere seeds by convict hands. Float out to the Isle of the Dead aboard a boat cruise then at dusk experience a chilling, lantern-lit ghost tour.

Balance your Cradle Mountain wilderness experience with a dose of luxury. Walk your way up Marion’s Lookout then reward yourself with a ‘Muscle Melt’ massage. Or, for $25, make use of The Sanctuary with full access to a steam room, sauna, hot tub, plunge pool and relaxation lounge, with exquisite alpine views included!

Rated Australia’s number one public golf course, Barnbougle Dunes is a challenging links course winding its way along spectacular coastal scenery. Between sweeping dunes, breathtaking views and tumbling waves, it may be hard to focus on your swing. But, at least you’ll have good excuses to share over a wine in the stylish clubhouse.

You can trust that the Bay of Fires is the world’s hottest destination for 2009 as voted by International Travel Guide, Lonely Planet, or you can make sure of this claim by visiting the area.
Until you walk the hourglass-fine sands, cradled between azure sparkling waters and coastal wilderness, you’ll never know for sure!

In a short drive from Launceston you can be in the heart of Tasmania’s premier wine region, the Tamar Valley. In Pipers Brook, conditions are so perfect for producing bubbly that it’s considered second only to Champagne itself. The region also boasts nationally-acclaimed restaurants and plentiful fresh produce direct from the farm-gate.

Have you spent a long winter indoors? If you’re in need of some fresh air, head to the ‘edge of the world’ at Woolnorth where the cleanest air on earth is recorded on the cliffs of Cape Grim. Experience a Woolnorth Tour of the wind farm while breathing fresh air in spectacular surrounds.
